Regimental Artillery Battalion, 115th Infantry Regiment

This dog tag belongs to a soldier who was in the Regimental Artillery Battalion, 115th Infantry Regiment, 51st Division. The unit served in New Guinea late in the war.

3rd Independent Antitank Battalion, 32nd Army

This dog tag identifies to a soldier who was in the 3rd Independent Antitank Battalion. This unit was part of the Japanese 32nd Army and they were present for the Battle of Okinawa. They were part of the final holding force in front of the hotly contested Shuri Castle between May 29th to the 31st. The unit was completely annihilated by American forces by the end of the battle in June.

136th Infantry Regiment, 43rd Division

​2nd Area Army Field Freight Depot, 2nd Area Army

This unit was last located at Saipan and partipated in the battle against the American's in June/July 1944. The division was completely annihilated after the final banzai charge committed on July 7, 1944.
Located on Halmahera. Sometime during the war transferred to the 43rd Division.

63rd Line of Communications Hospital, 23rd Army

Unit was based in Canton, China at one point (which is the code for these tags). Later moved to Manila with 14th Army.

This particular item was found in a cave on Okinawa. It features shrapnel damage in several areas.

The Ha-Go tank of the 27th Tank Regiment. Okinawa

27th Tank Regiment

Unit was last based on Okinawa. They were the only armored regiment on the island. Were subsequently destroyed by American's by the end of the battle.

238th Infantry Regiment, 41st Division

The 238th Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment in the Imperial Japanese Army. The regiment was attached to the 41st Division. The regiment took part in the New Guinea Campaign, as part of the Japanese 18th Army.

This tag was brought back from New Guinea by a US Army veteran of the 41st Infantry Division during WWII.
