PAUL J. SIMARD
Corporal Paul J. Simard was born in 1949 and was from Boston, Massachusetts.
Simard entered service in the Marine Corps on February 7, 1968.
After training, he was sent overseas in the summer of 1968. Arrived in Vietnam on May 15, 1969. Upon arrival he was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment. Participated in Operation Virginia Ridge in Quảng Trị Province, South Vietnam.
After nearly a month of fighting, he was wounded in action on June 10, receiving a gunshot wound to the left side of his forehead. He was evacuated for treatment in Japan and eventually made it back to the states.
He was discharged on December 23, 1969.
